Day to day work at PowerItalia – Rear brake pipe replacement
November 8th, 2011
Today we had the pleasure of working on Lloyds lovely moon grey 20VT which has covered just 30k miles and is immaculate.
New brake pipes are required, as the originals have corroded.
We make the pipes up in house from copper tubing with new fittings.
The pipes are copied exactly from original Fiat pipes to ensure they follow the same routing which is vital to avoid them rubbing against moving suspension components.
Here are the pipes fitted on the car. As you can see they are in the original position and clipped in to the factory clips to ensure they are adequately secured away from road debris along with movement of the rear suspension arms.
Re secure the fuel tank and and we are ready to bleed the braking system with new fluid. It’s essential all the new pipes are checked thoroughly for leaks after the brake fluid has been bled.
